Participant2 but on the wm13220 fd part No6871er1009a motor makes a dreadfull noise going into spin with it loaded .empty still sounds a little rough ,we changed the motor but it was still rough , changed the board and it was quite as a lamb ,you can see the bulge on the cap where it has blown.
p.s this mod is up in the console .mMarch 25, 2007 at 9:05 am #208563funkyboogy

sorry for late reply guys..
to recap problem…appliance is pretty smooth on wash, but on spin it starts up smooth-then makes the rough noise leading up to full spin,
if you switch appliance of at wall whilst spinning it is almost silent…appliance is about 25 miles away and we are doing it as a favour for a commercial client..
engineer that was at appliance didnt have a good look at module but did suspect a module/motor speed issue, cheers… and thanks for mail bob…

Hi Ally
page 29 off the service manual gives you simple resistance checks to preform, but please do check for a bearing seal leak onto the direct drive motor connection as i have had that one quite a few times, new bearing and seal assebley and a good clean up of the offending connections usually sorts it.
good luck.
Bob.

What was the upshot of this?
I had a call a few weeks back where the customer complained of the noise you descibed. Naturaly enough it didnt do it for me (unlike the customer … stunner)
I am happy to say she phoned again today holding the phone to the machine and it sounded like a train on rusty rails.
This capacitor mentioned, is this a common fault?
Regards….
Tony
