been here today first one i have been to when uoe select wash it starts to fill and the drum wobbles for a few seconds then starts to tumble but sounds like a bag of spanners but if you turn by hand the drum sounds fine.are the direst drive stator or rotor prone to fail and would they create these symptons.

well

dont be surprised if the bearings are failing

the gap between the pulley and the stator is nominal

although the statots have been known to cause this problem

i have had the module cause this problem aswell, 1st though check the wiring from stator when it meets the base as i have also had them wear through at this point causing same problems and taking out pcb.

If it is bearings they are a doddle to replace. Well worth doing.

but if it was bearings it would make a noise turning by hand but it is sound as soon as it tries to turn empty it makes a terrible noise.

Could be the hall effect sensor on the Stator at fault. I know they usually come complete with the Stator but I think connect are able to supply just the sensor – (part no. lge6501kw2002a) if you want to give it a try.
