    Guys,

Went out to an LG WM-122340FB today which has baffled me. The machine continually fills and empties.

When put in a cycle the drum turns (as water continually enters and leaves the machine). The timer counts down the time remaining in the cycle until it hangs on a time (about 4-5 minutes in). After about 15 minutes of remaining on this time the LCD displays the error IE, according to the fault codes this related to no water at inlet, I’m assuming that because the machine remains filling and emptying the pressure switch will not operate, allowing the cycle to continue. The machine eventually stops filling/emptying and the cycle quits trying after about 10 minutes.

With my UKWG fault guide I was able to put the machine through its diagnostic cycle, the only thing that was not as suggested in the book was the LCD display when the diagnostics cycle is selected. Instead of 18:88, the display reads 18:C2, could this different be the error?

I’ve checked for information on the forums but can’t find anything of help, if any of you have been out to a machine that has experienced the same fault your thoughts would be appreciated.

    Yours in advance,

    Mark

Sorry, should have said that I made the basic sort of checks like that.

It’s baffling me no end, when I tried to search for LG on here the search facility didn’t return any results!

The drain pump does run all the time!

Will check out lucky goldstar to see if that provides me with any further information.

Should also mention that the diagostics appeared to be exaclty what the UKWG fault book suggests they should be. I was hoping that something would stick out like a saw thumb when I went through them.

Thanks for the help so far guys!

if the drain pump is running all the time the main pcb is faulty.

does it run all the time on the self test mode ?.

Has this model got the leak detecter on the bottom of the machine as the newer machines have a plastic base with a microswitch in the centre

Would that not just keep the pump running though if the machine had flooded???

    Guys,

Further to my previous posts, I have replaced the board on the LG machine and all appeared fine for 2 weeks.

Just had a call from the custoemr how has stated that the machine has now encountered another problem. Apparently the machine will not function what so ever (other then turn on and off). The lights on the display are all illuminated and they are unable to select any cycle.

Prior to going out I was hoping that someone may be able to point me in the right direction.

    Your ongoing advice is appreciated,

    Mark
