Participanthi guys
i recently had problems with my machine and after endless visits from engineers from a well known retailer they decided to condem the machine as they did not know what the problem was, basically it would not drain.
in the endless ammount of visits they replaced a pump a pcb and a wiring loom but still no joy, so when the engineer said on the last visit we needed a new direct drive motor assembly and said he had for safety reasons disconnected the motor i said enough is enough and contacted our insurers and they said they would replace the machine as long as the engineer condem’s it which he did with no hassle.we had our new machine delivered and asked me if i wanted the old machine taken away, i said no, i then decided to have a look at the old machine myself, after removing the back from the machine and directing the torch under the drum i could see that the pump they had replaced was in fact the fill pump and not the drain pump as the drain pump was rusty and looking in a bad state and the fill pump was nice and shiny and new so have now replaced that and the machine will now drain but i now have another problem.
the engineer saying he had disconnected the wiring loom to the drum motor was not quite true, in fact he had broken the the socket that the wiring loom plugs into on the motor presumably when changing the wiring loom on the last visit so i am now wondering how do i remove the bolt in the centre of the assembly to remove the motor so i can hopefully repair the broken plug??i have tried to undo the bolt while my wife stops the drum turning but no joy any tips on removing this bolt i would be gratefull as i would really like to get this machine running again.

Participantit is just a normal pulley bolt.
locking the drum in postion and using a spanner seems the right way
however, i use a big pair of mole grips and give it a whack, to loosen it off
but be careful, its easy to hurt yourself doing this, and suitable safety precautions should be taken
