well thats a door lock error code, some people get confused with the DE and LE error codes 😉
have you looked at the door latch pin as this somtimes works its way upwards and out of its eye retainer, then the latch hook does not make the door lock and it ulocks soon after its started.

Thanks for your suggestion, the door does lock and stays locked after the error code comes up so I didn’t think there was a mechanical issue with the door lock, worth a second check perhaps though.

Would it not be worth trying in a door lock or at least bridging the old one just to be certain that it isn’t the lock at fault?

Would think it also worth a careful examination of pcb’s to look for visible damage which may be repairable.

DE is a door lock error
LE is a motor locked errorlot of people get confused with this some places have these two error codes reversed.

Mike.Very difficult on LG boards as they cover them in that solid jelly like gungy stuff.(I’m sure there must be a technical name for it)

It is the board,10 year old machine so BER, the board is immersed in a solid silicone/shellac type material.April 19, 2010 at 10:51 pm #318008leavemetogetonwithit

I had similar this last week. Reported fault was DE intermittent and becoming more regular. Fitted new lock Saturday – fault still there and became worse in that machine would not even turn on!
Took boards out. Did a functional check on tactile switches and found most of them to be intermittent. then looked at jellied board and could see signs of burning in the jelly. Took both boards home.
This morning, re-tested tactile switches and replaced dodgy ones. Cut away plastic from back of power board around burn area and tried to remove jelly from printed side but gave up. Decided it might still work anyway. And after putting it all back it works fine.
I think the brown marks in the jelly were from a big blue suppressor type capacitor thing and if the machine fails again I’ll try and cut that out and join a new one in.
Reason for switches failing is probably damp environment. Some of the external legs of the switches were green with oxidation.
