ParticipantI have noticed a small pool of water in the middle, below machine. I’ve removed bottom cover for examination. One of the bolts at the bottom of the drum (which holds two drum halfs) was wet. What could be a problem. Many thanks!

Gasket in the centre of the tub joint will be leaking. Tank out job to sort……… New gasket will be required, and brace youself for a bill for two hours work.
No simple solution, I’m afraid.

Will the tub have to come out or I can just remove front and undo the bolts?
Also I have noticed yellow grease leak from two shock absorbers. Will they have to be replaced. Washer tends to be very shaky when spinning. I’ve read on the forum that LG addressed the “instability problems, for which LG has released a fix” but nobody suggested what to replace!

Yup, as I said, tub has to come out and be split. I wouldn’t worry about the grease around the dampers – they all do that. I have no info with regard to a modification kit.
spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to supply you with the tub seal, a tube of “Debor” sealant would be useful as well.

the stability kit was a bit of a joke to be honest, a series of different coloured clips to secure the front panel/lid better
the only other one involved a different shaped weight, but im sure youd have noticed that previously to be fair

Thanks for all your replays! Would it be wise to replace drum bearing kit at the same time. Drum does not rattle. But washer was bought in May 2002 and is in constant use. There is no leak at the back, but dried washing powder watermark was found just above heating element on a plastic protector bit. Would I need some special tools to remove old bearings and fit a new ones?

If the drum bearings are currently silent, I would leave absolutely alone. If you think you have to, special tools are a 2′ x 1″ steel bar and a sledge hammer. Don’t do it ’til you have to.
Your “wash powder” is likely to be scaling, which will happen over time. A service wash (90c with a quality bio pwder), or a proprietary descaler if you know that you have high chalk content in your water supply, will help.

I’ve got new drum rubber seal. Can I use Hoover contact adhesive as a Debor sealant?
