ParticipantHi, i have a Liebherr 2566 20H/001 Service 9981212-08 s/n 27.629.740.1
and i would like some advice before purchasing and fitting
Firstly – the ice cube tray itself has split and needs replacing, the parts department has come back with a complete kit 9590335 – surely i can just get the tray? the picture of the kit does seem to show the tray?i have sent a query to the parts yesterday so i dont expect a reply yet.Secondly – i have removed the unit off the frezer but not disconnected it, it looks like the only way to remove the tray off its axles – is to take out the cube tray rotator motor, but i can not see which clips/brakets are to release it – i have tried to attach 2 pictures but i think they are too big. Being cold plastic i dont want to press on the wrong tabs an crack the plastic
Your help would be appreciated, many thanks Ian

Hi Ian,
Many of those are a kit, I don’t have access to Liebherr’s system at home but I do know this is true for many.
Liebherr have changed the design, I assume to improve the ice maker unit either for durability or performance, possibly both and when you’re advised to use that kit then the instruction is that all parts of the kit must be replaced, not just the ice tray itself. So the frame etc also has to be changed over.
How you dismantle it I’m not quite so sure on but Eddie or Bob may know.

hello ian, sorry for late replay but to address your points, the icemaker tray comes as part of a kit.
the reason for this is that the tray fits into its housing and the motor turns the tray during the harvesting process.
the tray turns against a plastic stop inside the housing. the motor continues to turn, causing the tray to flex and the cubes to drop out of the tray.
the position of the stop inside the housing has been changed so it’s important that the unit is changed as a whole.
if you get the icemaker off, turn it upside down and remove the T15 screw from the right hand side.
then press down the clip just behind the front box of the icemaker and gently pull the motor assembly out.
this should be fairly easy to do.
hope this helps mate.
