ParticipantHi there,
I wonder if anyone could help with a fault I have on my Liebherr CN 3033 Fridge Freezer (service code 0902994-04)
The alarm / beep (normally used for open door) has started triggering at random times of the day or night. The freezer temperature also seems to fluctuate, but fridge is normally ok. We’ve tried a defrost for a day, plus also tried a reset with the dial switches and then mains.
Sometimes it’s ok for a few days, other times the alarm is back within an hour.
Searching the internet seems to indicate possible temperature sensor or evaporator sensor fault, but hard to be sure. I can’t find a Liebherr service manual anywhere.
I believe there is a diagnostic mode, but I can’t find how to active for my model. It has just two buttons, alarm and superfrost, plus two temperature ‘gauges’ with simple green leds for each
Any suggestions or advice please? Would be happy to try a sensor replacement first – doesn’t look too tricky if I can find the parts.
Thanks in advance!

hello scott, at the time of the alarm condition, do the superfrost button and any of the temperature indicator leds flash?
also, when the beep occurs, are there 3 or 4 beeps?
3 is for door open and 4 is for temp alarm.
in terms of probability, your problem is going to be, fridge evap sensor, freezer evap sensor, or worse case, pcb.
sorry I cant help you with a technical manual.
part number for both sensors is the same – 9590142.April 24, 2014 at 9:23 pm #412446scotthatton

Thanks ELDAR59.
When the alarm happens it’s 4 beeps, and the alarm button flashes. Pressing the button stops the alarm, but the button continues to glow steady red. Occasionally it resets but normally the alarm button remains lit. I’ve tried a defrost and many power downs…
So, what’s the best, buy one sensor and try it once in the fridge then if not try in the freezer?

if you’re going down the process of elimination route, then that’s the way to do it.
