I defrosted my My Liebherr CNes3366 -20A fridge-freezer (10 years old) when it started making a lot of noise, and now that seems to be cured. It restored the correct temperatures fairly soon but now (a week later) it seems to be maintaining freezer temperature erratically. I have had a couple of midnight alarms, although afterwards (after I had opened and closed the freezer door) it worked its way back to the correct temperature by the morning. It is now struggling a bit to stay there. The door closes in the normal way but I suspect that the door seal is worn. I will willingly fit a replacement but the Liebherr original part is not cheap so I thought I’d come on here and see whether my diagnosis is likely to be right. Any views?

It sounds like it has a self defrost fault or a faulty sensor.

You will need to get an engineer to test it.

When you defrosted it did you leave it turned off 48 hours with the doors open to defrost it ?

Or did you just remove the frost from the panel in the freezer ?

Thanks for getting back to me. It was probably off for in the region of 48 hours. Maybe a bit less. It took a long time for the ice in the back to melt!

Seems stable again for now but I think you’re right. I should get someone to test it.
