Liebherr CUN 3033 intermittent alarm problems

We have a fridge freezer and the alarm sounds intermittently. Sometimes it can go for 2 weeks without sounding, other times it goes off constantly. We have defrosted it 3 times for more than 24 hours, and twice it went for a week or so without the alarm sounding and once the alarm sounded on restarting. I have been advised by an engineer that it is probably the control board, and by Whitegoods that it is probably a thermistor. Any thoughts? What perplexed the engineer was the randomness of the alarm. Sometimes it can go off once, sometimes 4 times, or any number of times, other times does not stop until we turn off the appliance. And the time between the alarm sounding are just as random .
If you think it is a thermistor, I opened up the compartments that house the thermistors and there are 2. One nearer the lamp and one at the back of the fridge.
Are they exactly the same?
Is one more likely to be at fault?
Should I change both?

Hi Kev, When it alarms, is just the red alarm light and beeps, or do you get the green block and super cool light flashing and beeps ?

Sorry I thought I had replied. WE get the green block flashing. The red alarm only shows when we turn on the fridge after it has been off for a while.

Right, then is the green block flashing in sequence with the super cool light and what number is the green block flashing at ?

Thanks for your reply. I did reply to your first post by email, but I assume you did not get it.
You won’t believe this, but yesterday the fridge was flashing and beeping all day, and today it is working perfectly! So from the (many) times I have looked at it I would say that the super cool light and the green block do flash in sequence and it is flashing at 3. We normally run with the green at 5 and it flashes One below this. I did not realise the number it flashed on would be significant so have not really concentrated on it, but both Annie and I are fairly sure that 3 is the flashing number

Hi Kev, you need to replace the rear wall sensor.

Thank you thank you thank you. I will order one today. Are both the sensors the same? I have been sent details of a sensor for this model frige but I am unsure if both the sensors are the same

Yes Kev all three sensors on your model are the same resistance so providing you have a genuine Liebherr 9590206 repair kit all will be good.
