ParticipantMorning everyone
I am a new subscriber so would be glad of some help.
I have a Liebherr cun 3903 fridge freezer which was originally freezing up in the fridge especially the back. The freezer section was ok
Had an engineer out and diagnosed the problem was to replace the integral board and fan motor in the freezer even though the was doing its job and running whan the freezer was closed and shutting off when the door was opened.
So had the parts ordered and delivered
Different engineer revisited,replaced the parts.
Engineer said everything ok now and will start to get cold shortly
He then left.
After 4 hrs the freezer still wasnt getting cold
Too late in the day to call back the engineer
Has anyone any ideas what i could do to diagnose this fault myself as have been without a freezer for nearly two months and now running out of patience with this problem
Thanks in advanceJune 4, 2017 at 4:52 pm #447874SAMURI

Check to see if the compressor at the back is getting hot.
If the compressor is hot then it may be low on Gas.
You can check in the fridge as well to see if there is any movement on the wet wall / rear panel inside the fridge.
If it feels soft and has movement it may have an internal leak and would be non repairable.
As it was freezing up in the fridge this is the most likely fault

Ok Thanks for that .
Will have a look later .
Just a question .
If the gas was low would it still have enough to keep the freezer frozen as this was fine before !June 5, 2017 at 3:33 pm #447876SAMURI

If it has a slow internal leak when it was turned off the pipework can expand as it warms up so the gas can then leak out faster.
You will need to check if the compressor is running hot to find ot if this is the fault.
If the compressor is not running hot it may be a sensor fault.

Hi again
Yes as you suspected
The inner walls on the back of the fridge is very pliable and has creases in the corners
The compressor is running hot as well
Originally we used Go assist and payed out 170 pounds as a package to diagnose and fix the problem as well as paying extra for parts this was within the restrictions of the standard cost
These parts did not work so the original diagnoses was wrong
Wish i called out a proper company rather than a company that promises a fix
It was supposed to be a no fix no fee cost which they are avoiding because the case has been risen for an engineer to come out diagnose the problem and then fix
Out of pocket and peed off comes the thrase
Beware everyone and im not a scare mongererJune 5, 2017 at 8:34 pm #447878SAMURI

This is the wet wall blown and it is not repairable as it has an internal leak.
As the repair they carried out has not worked and the fault was not diagnosed correctly I would contact them and ask for a refund.
There is always the small claims court if you do not get any joy.

Thanks again
Yes i know ive been hoodwinked with this setup
And thanks for your diagnoses
Now to right to my solicitor and buy a fridge freezer from John Lewis which hopefully for the extra 60 pounds gives you a warranted purchase ! -
