I have a Liebherr freezer/wine fridge (SWTNES 3010-25A). After about a year of owning it, the freezer started to “defrost” itself. I would open it up, and it was wet inside. Checking the temperature with a thermometer it would be above freezing, but the door panel would say -25C. After I turned it off and back on, it would refresh the temp and start to freeze again. Started off slow, but now this is daily. I’ve been fighting with the service company over the past year. They replaced the inverter, the white temp probe that is visible on the inside back panel, and the controller board. They won’t do anymore nor do any replacement. So far I replaced the fan and fan motor inside (the one that is behind the inside back panel that seems to blow the air from the condenser around the freezer). I’m unsure of what else to replace as most of the parts have been swapped out already.
Here is a video showing the issue https://youtu.be/vzMh5Mr6HC0

Sounds like a sensor issue but I’d need the service number to look it up and see what’s in it.

    That is explained here: https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/spare-parts/finding-parts/4335-liebherr-spare-parts

All the sensors are replaced by this kit now, just in case you need it:

So 300 is for the top shelf wine, 310 is bottom shelf wine, there is 370 and 520, but I’m not sure which one is which. The white one that sits on the back inside of the freezer was replaced. What are the part numbers for 370 and 520? And could it be the limiter (part 350 I believe)?
Any way to test and see if a probe is faulty? Only thing I can think of is waiting till the freezer has the issue again and going into service mode,, sensor test and seeing their output.

The down and dirty way to check them is here:

    https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix-it-yourself/refrigeration-self-help/2950-fridge-freezer-thermistors

I suspect you’ve changed 520, 370 is behind the rear panel.

If it was the limiter, it wouldn’t cool at all so far as I know.

So the kit that you sent is 1 probe, correct? and that 1 probe is the replacement for all 4 of them now?
I will wait until the freezer stops working again and check the probe temp in the service mode and see what it shows before I disassemble it again and check with a multimeter. I’m thinking that it could very well be 370 as 520 was changed.
There was one thing I did notice. When I removed the ice maker, and that top inside freezer panel, there was some hole with some black looking wire in that hole. It looked like a sensor of sorts. What is that? Is that 435?

Yes, that link is to a single probe and there are four used.

    435 is a heating tube.

435 heating tube? Could that be the water inlet for the ice maker?

Thanks so much, I’ll check the probes temp and report back.
And would a faulty probe not show an error and work sometimes? As I mentioned, when I turn the unit off/on, it seems to grab the correct temp. After half day (sometimes a day), the freezer inside is above freezing (or close to it), yet the screen is showing -25C (or whatever it was set to). Then when I turn it off and on, it updates, shows — with the alarm that it’s above the min temp and freezes again.

What you have is symptomatic of a sensor failure, don’t get bogged down in anything else as yet as I think you’ve spent enough already without going off on tangents guessing at things that rarely if ever fail. 😉

Start at the start and work forwards, not the end backwards.

To update here, since I posted the last time, the freezer seems to be working. I did order the new probes and will replace them either this weekend or when the freezer starts acting up again. I’ll then post back here.

So I checked the freezer today, and it seems the problem is back. (I have not replaced the sensors).
I went into the service mode, and when I checked the temps, for instance the ‘3 first showed -22 and then jumped to 2.
here is a video of the temps (but this is after I already cycled through it). So it seems like the sensors need to be replaced (I think).

After I exited the service menu, the main screen still showed -22 until i turned it off/on and then went to the —

I have the freezer disassembled and replaced the air temperature sensor,
How does one remove that white panel on the evaporator to get to the temperature probe inside there?

So I changed both sensors. The evaporator one I couldn’t figure out how to get it out from inside the evaporator, so I just slid the new one in on the side of the evaporator. Seems to be working for the current moment since Sunday night.
