If you or someone else knows how to remove and replace the sensor in the evaporator so I can properly place the new one, I’d really appreciate it. I tried on Sunday, but there is some hard foam cover on it and it seems to go all the way around. I didn’t want to rip it off or damage it. Though, I would guess that having it on the side of the evaporator is also quite effective.

On that diagram item 503 is a “HEXAGON-HEAD SELF-TAPPING SCREW” that would seem to hold it in place.

Did you mean 530? I can’t seem to find 503.
530 are the screws (7 of them) that hold the back plastic panel in place that covers the evaporator and rest of the inside components. That’s not the cover on the evaporator. On the evaporator there was a sticker that has part code 5944084-01 (not sure if that helps).

    Sorry, yes, typo.

Do not move the actual evaporator as if you bust a pipe, game over without a refrigeration person with special equipment to fix it.

Yeah, exactly. So I guess for now I’ll just leave it where it is.
