ParticipantThank you so so much! Just one thing before I buy it the link you gave me is for a Freezer Air Sensor. I only have a fridge on its own. Maybe its the same part for the fridge too. Anyway your the expert here, not me. Just confirming its the correct part?
Thanks in advance.October 25, 2010 at 4:15 pm #333891kwatt
KeymasterYes, same part.
Can’t guarantee that it will cure the fault though, I can only point you in the direction of what the machine is telling you.

F2 = evaporator sensor fault

ParticipantThank you now I can get it, cheers everyone.
Now next up, where about is it located in the fridge, is it behind the back panel inside the fridge? Im not a refrigeration technician but im a mechanic so I should be able to do it once I know the location.

Part no. 9590088 is more suitable, comes with splicing connector, quite a common fault on Liebherr

ParticipantRe: Liebherr fridge F2 fault.
hi mate, on your fridge there should be three sensors:-
a fridge air sensor, which should have a red tag on it, a bio fresh sensor, which should have a brown tag on it and a fridge evaporator sensor, which should have a green tag on it.
pulling the backplate away carefully (remove the fan connector) will reveal the evaporator.
the sensor will be tucked into a pocket at the bottom of it and the cable will run through a hole in the cabinet behind the evaporator and up to a connector on the pcb.
the sensor you receive is a kit which means you cut the cable and join the new one. full instructions are in the pack.cheers.

9590142 has replaced 9590088 and comes in the same kit form.

ParticipantHello again.
I ordered it early last week and it has been shipped yesterday as it was not in stock. So I reckon i’ll have it maybe tomorrow or Friday. So what tools will I need? Solder/soldering iron, torx screw drivers, panal/trim remover, ratchets? I don’t want to have to bring the whole tool box home ya know! lol
Alf you say remove the backplate, is that inside the fridge or actually behind the whole fridge?
cheers mate!

ParticipantRe: Liebherr fridge F2 fault.
hello, the backplate is inside the fridge.
take all the shelves out and the divider. you’ll see little clips at the side of the backplate. lift these out.
there may also be two T15 torx screws holding the backplate in.
when you pull it out, be careful as the air and bio fresh sensors are still connected to it, as is the fan cable.
disconnect all these and pull out the backplate completely. this will reveal the evaporator.
give the retaining srews at the bottom a quarter of a turn and ease the evaporator forward enough so you can feel where the evap sensor is located and pull it out..
in the kit you will receive are all the instructions. be sure to join the cable OUTSIDE the cabinet at the back and not inside.
tools you will need are T15 torx driver, large flat blade s/d, side cutters and pliers alongside a 7mm socket to partially remove the condenser grill at the back. (this where you join the cables).
cheers. -
