Liebherr fridge Freezer KIKN 3056, error msg F3

Hi Im talking about a 7 yr old Liebherr Fridge Freezer Type 7082 046-00 KIKN 3056. Firstly, the LCD relating to Freezer section started flashing with no numbers just 2 lines. The fridge was normal showing 5deg. Despite the flashing lines, the freezer seemed to stay normal and cold regardless for about 10 days. BUT just now, the error message F3 came on. The fridge had until this point said 5deg. Now the fridge LCD is blank and the freezer shows F3.

Any clues what this means?

F3 is the freezer air sensor at fault.

F3 is freezer air sensor. I’ll look online at your appliance, but it will be Monday morning now.

I had turned the whole thing off over the weekend and started it up again Monday morning as technician was coming. To my amazement, the appliance is now behaving normally. 8 hrs after turning it on, it is almost at normal temp ie 5 for fridg and -15 for freezer. The freezer hopefully will stabilise at -16. Do you think this will be shortlived or could it be that the unit needed a total defrost and rest? And a good clean I might add .. which is the only good thing about emptying it.

i’d call off the engineer’s visit, as it could be wasting his time at this point, ie nothing to look at.
you could tell them that you’ll monitor the situation and contact them again when the fault occurs again.
f3 is freezer air sensor fault as already discussed. moisture can get in to the head of the sensor, disrupting the information that the sensor is sending back to the pcb. turning it off could have allowed the moisture to dry, or allowed the electronics to reset and the appliance looks like it’s ok again.
I’d not put all my faith in it straight away and it may well be worth keeping the engineer’s visit and asking him to replace the sensor.

Yes I was able to call off the technician .. and so we ll wait and see. Good start to my week. thanks again! I’ll let you know if it plays up again in case anyone else out there has F3 problem.

Thrilled to report after a month of perfect performance, the problem seems to have vanished. It required turning the whole unit off for 48hrs …
