Liebherr Fridge Freezer problems

I have a Liebherr Fridge Freezer model KGNves 3846 which is out of warranty. The freezer compartment warms up from -18 deg to -9 deg every time the door is opened whether or not any food is taken out or put in. I think there is a problem with the switch possibly as the seal seems OK. Maybe the motor isn’t turning back on when the door is closed?

When I contacted Liebherr, they advised me to call the local servicing company (Redhill Surrey area). Unfortunately, this company (one man band) is out of action until June. I have tried without success to find another servicing company who covers this area.

Any advice on what the problem might be (if I could fix it myself), or where I might be able to locate a servicing company to come out to fix it would be much appreciated!

hello pea-eye, sorry this hasn’t been picked up before now.

is the fan working in the freezer section?

if the fan is working, then the evaporator is probably blocked up, possibly from the drain hole blocking.

a quick fix (although this won’t cure the problem) would be to turn the unit off for a while, allowing the freezer evaporator to defrost.
