ParticipantFor the last 24 hours our Liebherr Fridge / Freezer (CN3866) has disabled the illuminated fridge temperature & substituted a flashing “F2” symbol on the screen. The freezer temperature remains illuminated.
I understand this to indicate that there is a problem in the refrigerator evaporator sensor area. However, having monitored the temperatures during this 24 hour period, both the fridge & freezer are running completely normally (+5 & -18), Can the “F2” symbol mean that there is a problem somewhere else in the appliance or is it just giving advance notice and indicating the imminent packing up of the evaporator sensor?

Probably just the sensor that’s a problem.
If you give the service number I’ll be able to tell you what one etc.

Apologies, I missed the reply notification.
There are three sensors in that particular machine that you can see detailed here:
Item numbers 250, 260 and 270 are all sensors.
In order they are; air sensor for fridge, evaporator sensor for fridge then the air sensor for the freezer.
I can’t tell you what one will be causing the problem I’m afraid.

F2 is the fridge evaporator sensor but sometimes this can come on if too much ice has built up in the freezer section.
It is worth carrying out a 48 hour defrost with the doors open first to see if this cures the problem as when the sensor fails the fridge normally fails to cool.

Bob, I have been repairing Liebherr refrigeration for 16 years as their service agent, sorry but you are wrong. The unit operates in an emergency mode, alarms and displays the fault code until repaired, or the board is denied power for a short time, in which case the F fault can disappear for a time. It will not happen if there is too much ice in the freezer.
