ParticipantHi,
Unfortunately the Freezer door on my Liebherr Fridge Freezer was accidentally left open and the contents were defrosted. The problem now is that since then the temperatures in the Fridge and Freezer are too warm. I measured the middle of the Freezer part and it is currently on zero degrees. I have left the settings on the default settings which were fine until the door issue occured.
The model I have is CUN 3033 – http://www.myliebherr.co.uk/products/re … ollapseTwo
Any help would be appreciated in getting it to the correct temperatures again.
Thanks

We will need the service number to look up anything for you, that’s just the current iteration of that model there can be 20 or more variants over time.
How to find that is here:

However it would sound like either a thermistor or compressor problem. If the former, not too bad. If the latter, bad news.

Hello Manhattan, how long was the door left open for?
Leaving the door open would have allowed the freezer evaporator to frost over, thereby restricting the air flow and resulting in a loss of temperature.
If the door was open for any lengthy period, then you’ll have to do a full defrost of the freezer. This could take a while and would involve turning off the appliance and leaving the freezer door open.
If all the components in the appliance are ok, then carrying out a defrost should work.June 16, 2016 at 3:19 pm #438662kwatt

I didn’t know if it was an air driven one Eddie but yeah, a definite possibility as well.

Hi Ken, it’s a frost free freezer with a wet wall evaporator. There’s a diverter valve to control the flow of refrigerant to the fridge.
If the freezer isn’t cold enough, then it’ll take precedence over the fridge and the fridge won’t be cold too.June 16, 2016 at 9:07 pm #438664Manhattan24

Hi, Sorry for the late reply.
The service number is 0908976-00.
Not really sure how long the door on the freezer was open for but it is possible that it was left overnight.
So would it be a good idea to defrost it first?
Thanks

Hello, if it was left open all night then that almost definitely is your problem and you’d have to do a good defrost on the freezer.
