    Hi All

I have a Liebherr NoFrost fridge freezer(top: fridge, bottom: freezer) . Model CBN-3856-20

I am getting frost in the inside insulation cavity at the back of the
fridge. The frost build up gets so bad you can see it through the fan
at the top back of the fridge. When I take the inside back cover off,
the frost looks like snow on top but underneath it is solid ice(in
the fridge). This build up take about 4 – 6 weeks.

The front display on the fridge say the temperature is correct but I
am sure it is not supposed to make ice in the back of the fridge.

I have checked the seals around the fridge door and they look OK and
if I put a piece of paper between the door frame and the seal it
    does not fall out.

I have tried replacing the fan inside but that has not helped. But I
cannot see if the fan is working. i.e. I have put a magnet on the top
edge of the fridge and the light goes out so the fridge thinks it is
closed but the fan never seems to come on.
I am not sure what else to do to make the fan turn on? 😕

I am not sure if the problem is the thermometers in the back or
    something else.

I have been looking around on the web for ideas and you can
apparently test the two thermometers that are in the fridge at the
back. However it involves taking the radiators off the back on the
outside. This looks to be a time consuming job.

Should I just buy new thermometers and replace them or are the other
    things we can check first?

    Thank you

    Hi

The model is probably a CBN-3656.

I would be looking towards the fridge evaperator sensor as this model is electronically controlled.

    Hi Bryan /All
Sorry for the delay but I had to get some time to check the model no
in the fridge but it is definitely a Model CBN-3856 Index 21 / 003
and the service nr / serial nr is 0976490-00.

I was thinking I would just get two thermometers but if one is an
evaporator sensor. I guess I am looking at getting a “sensor pack”
for this fridge? Is there something like this?

Also how do I test if the fan inside the fridge?
    Thank you

    Hi
I am assuming the main reason for the ice build up on the back is
    the lack of air flow.

I have taken the fan out and put it on an old 9v battery and the
    fan does work.

When trying the following I have put a magnet on the top edge of
the fridge and the light goes out so the fridge thinks the door
    is closed.

In the first instance I have tried warming up the thermometer at
the bottom of the fridge by holding in my hand. But the
temperature on the front of the fridge does not change. I have
also put a volt meter into the fan plug and there is no current.

In the second instance I tried putting the thermometer in a box
with ice around it and again the temperature on the front of
the fridge did not change. And a again there was no reading on
    the fan plug.

At this point I was sure the issue was the thermometer.

However after a put everything back together and put all the
food back in the fridge the temperature on the front of the
    fridge did change.

Now I am at a loss.
What would be the steps to force the fridge to turn the fan on?
    Thanks
