Over the last four years this freezer has occasionally run continuously about four or five times, sometimes resulting in the temperature falling to -32C. Switching off at the mains and restarting after 30 secs or so sorts the problem but it then recurs again some months later. Liebherr understandably will not accept it as a warranty problem so I am left on my own.

Being an intermittent fault I expect it will be very difficult to pinpoint and I am reluctant to start an expensive part by part replacement program.

I would very much appreciate any advice on what might be the cause of the problem particularly from anybody who has experienced the same fault.

Thanks, DrDill, We did suspect the Superfrost but the SS stars do not show on the indicator when the machine is in fault so I guess the board will have to be replaced. Is this a job I can do, I am OK with electrics but can find no advice on replacement procedure on the web. I would appreciate any advice.
