ParticipantLiebherr IKB3660 fridge fault
This fridge is 8 years old. It has started icing up on the evaporator plate, just behind the meat drawer, and the temperature indicator is not showing the set temperature (5 degrees), but sometimes a lower 3 or 4 degrees. On moving the back panel there was significant ice build up, which we thawed. The fridge reverted to it’s design temperature for around a week then started icing up again. The actual temperature seems to be higher when checked with a infrared gun.
The fan is working, I suspect that the temperature probe(s) are faulty. Do I need to remove the fridge from the kitchen cabinet or can these be disconnected and reconnected from the front? I understand that as many as three temperature probes are used.

Index or service number required to identify production period and parts fitted on the unit at that time.

The icing up can be caused by malfunction of any of the sensors, you may find it best to replace all three, you said the fan works so that can be eliminated as faulty, but it is controlled by one of the sensors. The replacement kit is part # 9590206, they have been designed to fit behind the rear wall. the kits are available from this site.

Is it the control board or is there a less obvious cause?
I have removed and tested the three temperature sensors. They all show the same response as the spare that I recently purchased, around 420 ohms at freezing, 5k at 25 degrees, and 13k at boiling.
The fan operates when the door is closed.
On re-assembly the fridge display immediately shows the ambient temperature, then next morning it’s the correct temperature of 5 degrees C. With a infra red heat gun I measured the temperature profile as :- top shelf 7 degrees C, middle around 4.7 degrees C, meat and vegetable compartments around 1-2 degrees C.
There was a lot of solid ice buildup behind the rear cover. This seems to happen quite quickly, within two-three weeks.
Any ideas? -
