    Hello

We have a 3 years old Liebherr TP-1710 under counter fridge which is suffering a build up of powdery ice at the top of the back panel inside.

We’ve checked the door seal for any damage. We thought one corner was’t quite fully against the body and reinforced it by gluing a small piece of tubing to it. It now makes full contact but this didn’t solve the problem.

We noticed that a light brown stain was coming from behind the plastic cover where the thermostat capillary tube contacts the back wall of the fridge. We thought that the tube had leaked so fitted a new thermostat. This hasn’t solved the problem.

We’ve even tried smoke matches in a bowl inside the fridge to see if any leaks are visible, but no result.

Could anyone please offer any suggestions.

    The service number is: 9988949-02

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

Powdery snow is normally caused by air ingress where somewhere on the door seal it is not sealing fully. or it could be a faulty thermostat. but my start would be the sealing of the door.

    Hello, thanks for replying.

We’ve looked all around the door seal and it’s making full contact with the fridge body.

Is there anywhere else where outside air could get in?

Nope. You could try a thermostat or it might be the liner has become detached from the evaperator but you’d really need an engineer to confirm that.
