Hi. I need to wash & brighten up my rugs & some parts of my carpets( well trodden areas)
I’ve seen an advert in daily newspaper for a Light ‘N’ easy steam mop for £49.99. Claims to use a continuous high pressure steam which leaves no wet soggy mess which would mean hours of drying time!
Looks good in the write up. But has anyone tried it ? Would be interesting to hear whether it was worth purchasing…
I already own a VAX 3 in 1 machine but find the setting up of it very tiresome & it always makes such a wet soggy mess.
    Cheers Lizzie. 😉

    Hi
I have used the Light ‘n’ Easy on two kinds of flooring; pure new wool carpets and thin weave matting type carpet. In both cases the steam did take off dirt out of the carpet but in terms of the wool it did take longer to dry than our old Vax canister’s pump shampoo system. The colour also ran with the steam on the wool carpet which I won’t be trying again! Id recommend the use of the steam cleaner purely for hard wood flooring IF the flooring has been treated; the thin weave faired better but the carpet fibres have remained stiff as opposed to fluffy and light with the use of the Vax canister.
Weve also purchased a Vax Rapide model VO29 upright which has since made washng carpets so much easier and less back wrenching.

    🙂 Happy new year Smartcookie!
Thanx for your input on the steam cleaner…I posted a while ago so an update on this is that I’ve bought a VAX spot scrubber machine…This enables me to do my rugs & the well trodden areas easily …I haven’t really given it a real go yet as all the family & dog are here & wet carpets need a quiet time!!!!
I’m going to give my stair carpets a good clean so hopefully this machine will do the trick Regards Lizzie… 😉
