ParticipantHi all,
I have been fitting child proof fixings to everything our very curious one year old can get his hands on. This includes the freezer.
Unfortunately I find that the adhesive that sticks the child-proof catch to the painted metal doesn’t do a good enough job so I wanted to pop a small screw through it.
However, as there is no circuit on the rear of this machine and the sides appear to get warm in use I presume the fluid circuit is in the sides of the freezer and obviously I don’t want to risk puncturing this with the screw.
Can anyone tell me definitively where the circuit coils are located please?
The screw would be 4 inches down (from the top of the unit) and 1 1/4 inches back (from front edge of side panel).
I’d be surprised if the coils extend to this area, but I don’t want to be surprised!

I think you are getting over-enthusiastic regarding child safety in the kitchen TBH. Curious though a young child may be I hardly think screwing a safety catch to the door of a otherwise harmless freezer is ever going to be a risk factor. Use high strength velocro strap if you must but leave off drilling holes in the metalwork please!

I think my question was clear. I wasn’t looking for advice, just tehnical information. Thanks.

Then let’s start with you giving us the correct and full model (ENr) number?

A short self-tapper in that position with be perfectly positioned to cause no harm, to the fridge or the child. 😀

Thanks. It’s actually in a utility room so if darling child did open door unnoticed we’d have quite a clean up job to do.
