ParticipantAny one in here doing the Lofra work?
Seeing that they are looking for agents made me think about how bad their spares dept is. I was getting constant calls from their customer service dept re spares that they claim were not ordered and each time I checked I found they had been faxed. It got that bad that I will only email spares requests to their manager with a read receipt attached.
Apart from this niggling problem they seem a good bunch to work for at £45 per call and they also pay you for not at homes as well.

Without checking I am probably getting 4-6 calls per month but then I cover their Birmingham postcodes so I suppose more get sold there.

It will be short term in certain areas I guess, a lot of it depends if they sell a whole load of gear to a kitchen company or housing developer, once the 12 months is up, probably never see it again unless it’s a big expensive hood or a range 😕
Lordy has gone up in the world BTW, when he signed up he worked for Merloni as he’s posted, if they were that good an employer, why did he move to Lofra ? 😉

We had one of the bosses over last nov/dec, cant remember his title but his second name is Tunnicliffe if I remember correctly. He came from Merloni so he must be cherry picking who he wants from his old company.
BTW it passed in conversation with this guy that he is the brother in law of Brian Moores from Whirlpool .

Tunnicliff brought the Lofra work to Jason where it was carved up to Dasa members, Council members looked after 1st though, this is the same Tunnicliffe who set Jason on the Indesit work, Jason also gave him Network Dasa list…for free.
Tunnicliff is not to be trusted, he only looks after himself.

KeymasterI ve known Dave many years and he has always been alright by me. He asked me if I wanted to work for Lofra direct when I was given the proposition it was one I could’t refuse. Rate starting at £45 . He was going round the people he knew. I also put many names forward for him to contact which ones he did and did not was up to him.
Rightly or wrongly I gave him the DASA list, the Network DASA list and many of the names from within here, to include Kevin M, Kevin H, Phil K Phil D, Ken and Dave but to name but a few.
Dave may look after himself I think we all do to some greater or lesser degree the guy is semi retired and wanted a part time job. He asked for things that had been missing from the Merloni days, ie better rates , free van stock and tech advise.
two of the things have been fulfilled the spares distribution is terrible though. Generally though if you speak to them things can be sorted out.
Just how I find them

Dave Tunnicliff also called on me to work for them but it’s nothin to get excited about as the volumes are very low.

You are right Del in that the volumes are low. I have had about a dozen jobs since January, had to order spares on about 7 of them and got about 2 without any problem. It seems to be that they don’t know what they are doing in the Lofra office and I am sure someone in spares is dumping the faxes so that is why I email spares requests straight to Lordy now.

ParticipantRe: Lofra
Dave called on me as well. only 2 weeks previously I was told uncategorically by Pushy at Lofra they were not going to pay me for a call I had done.
The story was, Via Anglo Iberian, when I was an agent, they sent a call with the part to renew a grill element, they sent the wrong one, as there was a choice. Then (lofra) refused to pay for the call as they told me I should have checked with the customer prior to the visit in whether we had the right element. So being bloody minded, I refused to call back or even return the element. I took it up with AIS but they were only a slight help, they did pay me for the initial visit, but would not cover any subsequent call, telling me the argument was with Lofra. It seemed Lofra refused to pay them as the work was incomplete. I don’t think Graham Smy was ever paid on that one.
Pushy phoned a few weeks later demanding to know why we had not seen the call though, she told me to put a 1st class stamp on the jiffy bag for the element & send it back, it was needed for another job. I told her to get real, and how can I post this with just a stamp? it wasn’t a letterbox jobby.
After she a few weeks she decided to climb down and cover the postage, as well as pay for the reurn visit, she sent the correct element. Being bloody daft, I agreed to send an engineer. We sent back the part, invoiced for postage as well as the return visit. Guess what, after 3 months, no payment. I phoned her and she refused to speak to me. So, I got one of my girls who is good at extracting money to have a try. Pushy simply told her, it was our tough, there was nothing in writing, so we weren’t getting paid. She even sent back the invoices, endorsed as non-authorised repairs.
I threatened court action, and was told again there was no way they were paying, see you in court.
After almost forgetting about it, all at once a cheque arrives, paid in full. 2 days later Tunnicliffe arrives in my office with his toothless smile, promising the earth, he tells me there is no probelm with accounts, as he is aware I’ve been settled. He hands me a disc. I bid him farewell, and drop the disk straight into the bin.
Now they are in deep shit in this area, we refuse to touch their crap, we are not an AIS agent, (I think that relationship has since ended) and I told them I don’t forget. Every time we get a fax, I send it back to them.
