Lofra MXUD66AMFE main oven is dead. No heat from top or bottom. No light. No fan. Top oven works fine.
How can I work out if it is the commutator (dial on hob which selects oven function) or the respective elements which have gone. Also if one element is out does that mean the others won’t work? Thanks all.

    Hi

Have you checked your clock settings ?

Hi Bryan and thanks for fast response. This is a second hand cooker I have just bought privately so they may have known it was faulty. It’s about seven years old. There is a dial style timer to the right of the hob though that seems to control the top oven and that works fine but I don’t see any timer controls for the main oven. There is no digital timer at all.

    Hi

If you wiggle the control knob does it flicker on / off ?

Other than that meter the elements and check the components if your qualified or competent to do so or i’s a engineer visit.

If you mean a 120 clockwork timer is fitted rather than a digital timer, then these are prone to failure.

When the clockwork timer fails, it kills the power to the main oven elements, a bit like a fuse. Small oven remains serviceable.

Your first port of call is to test the timer, with the power disconnected.

If you are unsure of how to test the timer, get a professional in.

All parts for this unit are still available if needed from us at sales@lofra-uk (dot) co (dot) uk
