Just purchased a built-in oven unit from Currys, a LOGIK LBMFMX21. When first powered up shows Er 20 on the timer screen with a loud beep and what sounds like a relay engaging. After 30min or so it can be powered off and on and then will show the expected flashing timer screen with time at 00:00 ready to be set. If disconnect power for 15min or greater and then power on will show Er 20 again, if power of and on after just a few mins generally it will go to the set time screen as it should. I don’t really want to keep the oven powered up all the time just to bypass this anomaly, it draws power and bills have just gone up. No documentation in manual and Currys worse than useless. Seems to be a common issue with many purchasers reporting it even have up to two replacement same ovens with same issue. Any ideas on what might cause this and how to resolve it would be appreciated. Does not seem worth returning it for such a minor fault and was dirt cheap for a stainless steel fan multifunction oven.

it may be a minor fault now but if its gets worse just out of warranty in becomes a very expensive cheap oven

Unit seems to be made by Vestel in Turkey

If it’s under 30 days old you are within your rights to reject it and ask for a refund or replacement.
With respect to power usage they are designed to be left on 24/7 and the power draw with just the clock running shouldn’t be more than a few watts. I appreciate that still costs money but havin to reset the clock every time you use it seems like a lot effort to me.

Did eventually get through to Currys and they offered to return it but after scheduling I did some further tests showing oven was basically OK so decided to keep it. The error 20 only shows when been powered off for long periods. Still have the 12 month cover if plays up further.
Yes made in Turkey on side, but the hob also by Logik is made in China.
Agreed probably best to keep on all time, I measured it at 3W power draw or about 7.5 quid a year.
