I know this comes up from time to time but just had an interesting thing turn up.
A new WTA member who wasn’t on the locator (now fixed) got a ping from the local Trading Standards office checking with the WTA to ensure that they were in fact a member. Obviously it turns out that this was all completely above board and there was nothing wrong but, it just goes to show you that it can be checked.
Just in case you are displaying logos or whatever that you might not be entitled to.
My presumption is that TS just went onto the WTA site and checked that the trader was a valid member, didn’t see them there so emailed in.
TS didn’t give a reason for the check.
Just in case they’re on a purge or something though I thought I’d post it up for info.
