ParticipantI had a call at a customers today on a Bosch top loader. When i arrived , the customer told me that she had been cleaning around the work surfaces adjacent to the machine and had inexplicably knocked over a small plastic beaker full of screws close to the appliance . She explained that the lid of the top loader had been open and she thought one or two of the screws may have dropped into the open lid.
I spun the drum by hand – No scraping noises – ran the pump – drained ok with no funny noises. I explained to the customer that the chances of anything dropping in were small .
I was gonna leave it at that but as it was my last call and the customer had accidental damage on her insurance , i decided to remove the heater just in case there was a rogue screw that might cause future probs. I was actually more worried about anything in there eventually rusting or making its way into the pump.
After eventually removing the heater , i took a casual look through the hole into the base of the tub. This is when i saw the ‘one or two screws’ that the customer had thought might have dropped in 😯Here’s what i removed…….

This second pic shows the magnet the customer gave me , along with a wire coat hanger , that allowed me to construct a ‘mag-a-grab’ 😀

Thats as bad as the customer of mine who though she had one or two hair bobbles in her machine. 😯
Without the help of the great British public, our workload would be more 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} less than it is, god bless em. 8)
