I have two Baumatic BMC450SS combined microwave and oven units. They are designed with a dial that you rotate to set the cooking time.

I think the encoder that was used must be poor quality because neither of them has ever registered the rotation of the dial well, and one has now stopped registering at all. This means you can only run the microwave for 1min and a time with no adjustment.

The solder joints looked poor so I resoldered them but it hasn’t made any difference so I suspect the actual encoder is faulty. I can find the entire control panel online, but it’s list price is more than the entire oven cost new. I have tried to find an exploded diagram or a way to identify the make and / model of the encoder so I could just replace it. They are generally just a few £ online.

Can anyone help identify what it is?

    Thanks

Sadly most of the parts for that machine appear to be obsolete and I can’t even find that one listed let alone any other info on it.

    Hi, thank you for looking.

I discovered a video on You Tube explaining how to fix a faulty rotary encoder https://youtu.be/JYOpIW_z6oM and that has fixed it! Saved over £200.

    Thanks again
