ParticipantHi,
I’m looking around for a new washing machine as my nearly 10 year old Hotpoint is not sounding so healthy anymore.
I have been reading websites such as this one & been in some shops looking/asking around.
I’ve heard Miele are extremely good but they’re out of my price range. The ISE AW23 I have read about & like, however the price is more than I was hoping to spend. But with reviews saying washing machines aren’t built very well anymore I’m put off by much cheaper. Although I hear Bosch are very good for the money?
Any advice would be appreciated! 🙂

Hi undying
Yep Bosch in the £350 – £390 range for the WAE24364 1200 spin from the Classixx range with a two year warranty, plus the usual delivery and installation charge say £40 odd, so your talking circa £400 job done .
On the other hand ISE AW23 with a two year warranty £449.99 delivered and installed or if you go slightly higher then you could have the ISE AW23 with a full five year warranty £519.99 delivered and installed don`t forget that in most instances the same engineer that installs it will be the same one that will carry out any repairs should they be needed in the future, no call centres just a local phone call.
If you are looking for a sound investment the ISE10 1600 spin AAA rated with a full 10-year warranty. however not eveyone can manage that sort of capital outlay. I certainly would if I were in the market for a new machine.

ParticipantI’ve checked that Bosch out on John Lewis online, they have a John Lewis JLWM1203 for £322 with 3yr guarantee, apparently it’s made by Zanussi. It’s very similar spec but with 21 progs. Do you reckon that be any good for the price in build quality?

A strong possibility the Zanussi has a sealed drum, even the cheaper Bosch machines are also cursed by this.
Sealed drum The higher spec Bosch and the ISE machines do not have sealed drums.

ParticipantThanks for that link, I have heard of this annoyance of the sealed drum. Do you reckon/know if the Bosch Excell WAE24468 wouldn’t have the sealed drum also as it’s higher in the range? To be installed it would be be just under the ISE aw23 in price. I am extremely tempted by the ISE, but I’m just curious about bosch.

Thanks! 🙂 Now I just got to decide which of the two I’ll go for. I just don’t know so much about the ISE aw23 as there’s no reviews for that actual model, but I’m very interested.
