Thanks Dr Dilll, Are u able to narrow this down a little please eg model range or model number so I can understand what u think is good. I take it that some Bosch dryers are better than others ?
Many thanks

I think there is only 2 models now, one is a 7 kg loaf and one is a 8 kg load, both less than £400

She asked for large capacity and reliable, that is an unbranded cheap machine imported by DAD. ?

Just because you may wish to recommend Bosch, as do we, doesn’t mean that the customer has no other choices. :rolls:

Not the place to say these things, i have never asked or wanted to service this brand, its £1** +vat from DAD, that tells me what the quality will be, and also the fact its sold through distribution.
Also the fact is the customer requested large capacity and reliability, i recommended a product that fitted this criteria, you did not, and the fact is that brand will be rubbish.

Where did you say they were made, and where are the spare parts stocked? These are no different to stuff coning out of china. IMO

Made in China as are many Bosch, full service & spares backup from Repairtech(UK)Ltd using WTA members. Distributed by DAD as are Bosch appliances.

Well i have a shelf full of bosch laundry and not one is made in china, bosch do have a factory fully owned and built by BSH group, makes quality appliances and worth buying by any customer. You can not seriously be comparing this product to a Bosch?

If memory serves the square door one is a dryer made in the German Bauknecht plant and is actually pretty decent for the money.
The problem, like many brands, is that there’s different machines made all over the place and that can change as models do.

It is difficult to know where some appliances are made, thats why i try to recommend brands that are very well known and established, this i think gives the customer confidence that should the appliance breakdown in 2, 3,4 or even 10 years the parts are likely to be available and the appliance will go on being of service and not be scrapped early in its life, this then continues to provide work for us repairers and at the same time save the customer money and the planets resources!

Absolutely and the very reason that you guys take the time and trouble to help people choose wisely. Nothing wrong with that at all and the expert opinion is invaluable to the general public IMO.
I do think there’s a lot more to the conversation though if we go off on that tangent, which is fine, but it’s a whole can of worms especially in the climate we’re in now.
I mean, who’d have seen MFI going bust, Servis, Moben with Tecnik and for the latter there’s BSH produced machines that parts are a nightmare to get information on let alone get.
Then there’s suppliers of spares to even large brands that have gone pop leaving you with non-availability or some stupid price that makes a repair unviable.
Who’d have even dreamed that Haier would buy F&P!
My point being that, with the best will in the world you, I and everyone in between offers an opinion based on industry knowledge and we try to offer the people that ask the best possible opinion and advice. But, try as we might, we don’t have a crystal ball or psychic powers and can only offer that advice on the knowledge and information the best we have in the now.
That opinion is, in my personal view, the best that anyone will normally get and this sort of ping-ponging gives people differing viewpoints, no bad thing and quite possibly far, far superior to a typical review site that perhaps tests the machines or just tries to flog the poor unsuspecting public some pile of tat for as much as they can get for it. this way people get an insight into the industry and what they are buying that they cannot and would not get elsewhere as it is completely unbiased opinion.
So, no harm in agreeing to disagree on what might be best suited. At least the OP has some interesting options to consider.
