Looking for new fridge/freezer..

Hi.

I’m looking for a new fridge and freezer (7yr old whirlpool side by side on the blink..quite literally..) and wonder if anybody knows of separate matching units that are tall larder type but with each being only 500mm wide. I know Samsung make matching tall units that are 595mm wide and look like side by sides when placed together but we can’t quite fit 1200mm total into our space. I’m also not too bothered about external ice/water dispensers anymore as ours haven’t worked for a while anyway..oh yeah that reminds me..NOT a Whirlpool please..!

Hi Phil

Beko have a matching pair at 55cm wide and Ice King have a pair at 54.2cm wide. Both are budget brands and not of the best quality.

Liebherr have a 55cm fridge and produce a 60cm freezer but not as a matching pair as one is slightly taller than the other :rolls: but the quality is the best you can get IMO.

Or you replace with another American, but be warned unless you spend a good 2k you are not goibg to get anything of quality. A good read on this subject and an excellent post by k here will get you started.

Thanks for your reply Don..very helpful.
Just re-measured and we really can’t fit more than a total of 1000mm in the space we have so looking like we’ll have to look for another american or french style doors to maximise storage.
Quite like the look and dimensions of the Sharp 4-door american/french/whatever style f/f, which are going for around £1500. How do Sharp compare in the refrigeration market..?
