Is there some way to read the Bosch model numbers? There seem to be similar looking machines with different numbers in the model number… (The product search on the Bosch homepage didn’t find any results for the WAE24060)

i think you will find hte wae24060 is a independant exclusive – it is essentially a down-specced wae24165 – mechanically identical other than the control board, that has a handful of extra options and programmes.

No stock left at Bosch I ordered the last ones yesterday, due in next week 😆

Like gandh says down specced on the control board.

    OK thanks.
Is down-specced a good or bad thing? My thinking is that we’re likely to only ever use the basic programs, so a down-specced model has less to go wrong, possibly simpler to diagnose faults(?) and would be cheaper to repair if we needed to replace the control board? Or is that just plain wrong… 🙂

If you are only looking at basic programmes then yes it’s a good choice. As for replacement boards yes the 24060 is slightly cheaper.

When I get them in I’ll give one a good going over and post up my findings.

done lots. not a single prob as of yet, even sold one to a lady who bought a waa24171 2 years ago, thats developed a hole in the tub, visually identical, but as far as im aware the 24060 isnt built in the cruddy factory pimped out to bosch like the 24171 was 🙂
