Loose paddles on Zanussi aquacycle 1200

The paddles in the drum of my machine can be rattled by hand and clunk when the drum is turned by hand. Should they be as loose as this or should they be tight. Some finer cotton clothes are now suffering pulled threads during washing. I can replace them if necessary.

They shouldn’t be loose and many are tricky to sort. You might give us the PNC number of the appliance ((look on the inner door for it) and we can find out more useful information for you!

The new ‘drum lifters’ are modified and are held in place by a stainless steel screw. The old type are simply slid and clipped into place. They very easily get loosened as a result. To remove the old type you have to put a screwdriver through the 4th hole from the front to bend the metal latching tabs clear. Then slide the lifter forward and out.

The modified lifters (Part no : 50252271007) are screwed in place but access to the screw is via removal of the large sump hose under the machine. Tricky to access for the beginner, but hey you’ll enjoy the challenge I’m sure. 8)
