I have a 5 year old Prima LPR 255 fridge freezer. I am getting a large build up of ice in the top back part of the fridge. I have defrosted the freezer but that hasn’t solved the problem, any ideas????
    Who makes Prima anyway??

Are the door seals ok ? Any gaps in a seal can let warm air in and this would cause icing. The other basic things to check are to see if the door is closing properly and is the interior light switching off . Check the door hinge points havn’t collapsed .

These are only generic tips for fridge freezers as i don’t know your particular model .

Thanks for that, I’ll double check all the seals.

Hubby has checked all seals, all fine. Light goes off ok too.

Following on from the previous checks, it could be a number of problems…none of them good i’m afraid 😕

If the ice is fairly uniform across the width of the back and your food is not being frozen in the fridge then the compressor is weak and would need replacing (big expensive job). If the ice is not spread uniformly but restricted to a large section of the back then it may have a gas leak (big expensive job to find the leak and it may not be repairable anyway). If the ice is ‘balling’ in one particular spot then it may be localised insulation failure (big expensive messy job that may not work either)

All in all, you may want to consider replacing the machine…i personally don’t recognise the brand which probably means a cheap badged product 😕
