Main oven not working, how do I test the element please

I have a twin oven Creda Europa Solarplus cooker.
The main lower over has stoped working.
I have removed the element (power is off!).

I need help in testing the element please, using my multimeter which is set so that when both probes are touched together it gives an increase in reading,
I have attached both probes, ie one to each terminal on the element, and it does not show any increase in the reading,
Does this mean that my element is faulty?

If the element is faulty, would the thermostat need checking as well?

Sounds as if the element is goosed sure enough, Dave should be able to advise a replacement. The thermostat is most likely okay by the sounds of it.

Almost certainly the element but I’ll need the model number please to check for the correct one 🙂
