KeymasterMy dryer continues to turn – but no heat! The place to start would seem to be with a maintenace manual or wiring diagram. How do I go about getting started?

KeymasterThere is probably no such thing as a manual, even we generally don’t see them. Wiring diagrams are almost impossible to get and certainly not in the public domain.
But if you pull the dryer out, look for a little red button on the rear and press it, that’s it reset. 😉

Thanks kwatt,
Unfortunately, I cannot find said button on the rear – should I remove the covers and look?

KeymasterNo, if you can’t see a reset then there’s likely a fault, several things could cause it (heaters, stats etc.) so if you’re not sure I’d advise an engineer.

This is a condenser dryer I think.
If it is, it may not have a little red button but a piece of red rubber that looks like a cover, push the middle of it hard, if you hear a click, that’s it reset.
Apart from that, as Ken says, calling an engineer would be advisable.

hi, we have service manuals for most crosslee dryers, this one included.
they are very handy and 4213 094 82401 is a number on the front page of this manual…it might be the manuals part number as its repeated on every page of 8.

Sorted!!
As Dave_Conway summised it is a condenser dryer, and the reset is under a red plastic cover. However, I didn’t discover that until I removed the back plate. However, sorted now – I’m a happy bunny.

ParticipantFootnote if I may – the “monoblock” condenser unit – the big folded aluminium job in the bottom – must be kept clean – a showerhead is good, a garden hose is better to ensure the efficiency of the dryer. All filters and channels must also be kept clear. Bear in mind that the machine is basically an air pump with a heater, so airflow is everything! Finally, don’t dump laundry on the floor at the front of the machine – this is where the exhaust air will vent and can restrict the flow; thus tripping the safety.
Bear these points in mind and your machine should soldier on for a while longer.

Sorry to re-open this one – but still have a problem. Having reset the trip, cleaned the condenser unit, and ensured that the exhaust in unimpeded. the dryer works fine – but for a diminishing length of time. Currently the trip is going after about an hour.
Any ideas what the problem could be?

ParticipantThis is that “One touch” digital dryer, isn’t it? There is a cycling stat in addition to the safety reset stat back by the heater IIRC, but the digiboard itself can cause some horrible (and expensive!) problems.
Probably engineer time I’m afraid…….

Not sure about your description Penguin45, but it does have only one button (ON) – opening the door is how to switch it off. It is resetting the safety button on the back that brings the heat back on. What flips this? Is it a local thermostat (integral part of the safety switch)? or is it the control board? Would rather avoid an expensive call out for an inexpensive appliance, and would hate the replace it for a trivial problem!
Thanks,
