    Afternoon

quick question about maintenance washes, i have a Gorenje wa72145 and had it for about 6months now i think. Even though it does not smell or is stained i figured it does not hurt to get into the habit of a maintenance wash every month or so, the problem i have is suds.

I tried doing it with some washing machine cleaner badged as Dr Beckkman on a 95deg wash cycle but as the machine looks like it has an agressive wash pattern it whipped suds up and they eventually came to the top of the glass. As this point i stopped the machine, drained it and ran a normal cycle to flush the suds.

Even if i use a but if washing powder it whips the suds up to past halfway on the door – i stop it at this point as i dont want to risk anything getting in the bearings

So any ideas? – i had thought about setting it to rinse – let it fill up to a nice high water level – shut it off and then select the 95deg cycle with no detergent so it just uses a lot of hot water sloshing about instead

Or as i run a boil once a week as my Mrs wears white and works in a kitchen is a maintenance cycle redundant for me

    Re: Maintenance wash query

If you do a boil wash every week and use a decent powder or tablet detergent, not a colour detergent or liquid then you do not need to do a maintenance wash.

cracking – cheers for the quick response, yep I use a decent powder and dont let liquid anywhere near apart from that Aerial stain remover once or twice and the door is always open

Sorry for the daft question, i just want to make it last instead of having or sort out smells/mould issues once they have happened
