Although I am waiting for this to be confirmed a spark mate of mine said he read in one of his trade journals that all Whitegoods repairs, will need to be PAT tested from the third quarter of 2012, not sure if this will extend to customers homes but has anyone heard anything of this ?

Not heared anything… but in order for this to happen there would be thousands of engineers needing to take PAT testing courses.

Well yes I had already fathomed that aspect, but I would have thought that if such legislation was to be made that somehow we as a trade would have been notified in plenty of time due to this very aspect !

Can anyone point us in the direction of the supposed legislation?
I’m going to go out on a limb and surmise it’s probably not the armageddon and most likely hooey.

Electrician friend of mine said he had seen this published on a Trade Publication and I have asked him to copy and paste it so I can have a read. As yet I have not received this and searching the web can find no mention of this ?
