ParticipantHi i have the washing machine in the title it has started to spin very slow or not spin at all i’ve taken the motor out which seems to be in fine condition (spindle an bearing wise seems fine ). The carbon brushes are about three quarter of an inch long an the machine is about six years old any one have any ideas on the problem . Im single so the machine hasnt had a hard life one or two washes a week tops my dilema is the motor seems to be around hundred pound an if i need to get a new one it might be just as worthwhile replacing the machine
ps im a newbie if this is in the wrong section of the site please direct me to the right forum cheers paul

Moved you to the Washing Machine Forum.
When the motor starts running very slowly on wash, or even just creeping over with a humming noise, it’s a sign that the armature (the revolving part) is knackered.
You’re going to need a motor – HERE.
