That’s 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} increase on the carbons, 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} increase on the others! Could they have a hidden agenda to use these price rises to subsidise their own fixed price repair service and thereby increase market share at the expense of the independant trade? I’ve noticed they are advertising their service quite heavily on the internet through Yell.com, etc.
Does anyone know how to get hold of these updates for partfinder? They always used to be publicly accessible on the Hotpoint Service website, but this latest update is password protected.

Is it one of those old fashioned floppy disks they sent you Mark? I haven’t got a drive for one of those and I think they issued an alternative website link to update on-line last year? 😕

Don’t quite get where you’re coming from on this one – surely you dont pay £20 + for carbon brushes – so how is this increase going to price the independants out of the market? Connet price is £3.88 for 1600474 brushes.

Just quoted as examples of the price rices, of course we dont buy them at anywhere near that rate. Whats more Indesit have listed some parts as having “special prices” which are available on the website as a download, I guess for account holders only.
Mr Franz, there will be some parts you need that are based on a discount from the retail price list and these rises will be reflected in those. Is it one of those old fashioned floppy disks they sent you Mark? another gem here.
good old 6204370 fan element (C00199665)now £43.47! (£50 inc vat)
fit one of them at retail with a decent labour rate and you are looking at £110 job.
No doubt enquiries from the public at Indesit will be greeted with a quote to fit for around £160. They will then be offered the warranty insurance which will seem like a bargain in comparison, either that or customer will scrap the appliance. Either way the end result is another customer taken out of our market,February 14, 2009 at 6:07 pm #277317admin

You need to have a think about what Mark said….
The SSP to the public does not matter to you as a repairer. It is a crucial tool to The Indesit Company as they try to sell warranty contracts to the public. £160 for a one-off repair, or £125 for a service contract. Hello……?
That’s a threat, clear and simple.
Chris.

Participantno, the pound against the euro is so bad, and thats the reason, when stocks are being replenished, they WILL go up
and anyway, lets just hope the prices indesit quote are more likely to push them nearer a repair
look at it from every angle, thats what i say
