Can you post the link please Peter?
Edit: In fact don’t bother as there’s hundreds of fan elements for sale on eBay, many cheaper than wholesalers prices. That’s the nature of the beast and not worth the worry. Besides all pattern fan elements are crap so every man for himself when it comes to selling junk on eBay. 😈

my point is martin some wholsalers are supplying parts to customers cheaper than us
these are the same parts they are supplying to us
if its for cashflow reasons then fine but a customer will only buy an element once its not like ohh there cheap we will buy 3 !!! its destroying our trade?February 17, 2011 at 2:16 pm #344933Martin

I can neither agree or dissagree with you Peter at this stage TBH. Without clearly defined examples of wholesalers selling to the public on the Internet v’s their trade prices, it’s a lost argument. We know it’s going on, we can see it using the likes of eBay that’s for sure. (Not sure about Masterpart doing it as I can’t see any examples on there, but hey!). But all the while no examples. 😕
You mention Masterpart, so OK, using their latest ‘Solutions’ special offers to the trade publication (expires March 2011) please show me an example of where they are flogging stuff on the Internet any cheaper.?
Nevertheless, destroying our trade? The jury is out right now on that but speaking personally, I haven’t found that to be the case. So therefore I leave the thread to others to comment instead. 🙂

the reason i put this on was a cx come into one of my shops today to buy a beko fan element one of my staff served him and found we had both beko gen element 262900006 and patt element ele4700 we charge 12.99 for gen or 9.99 for patt one
his reply to my girl was your taking the p*** i can get it on the web for 4.79 including p?p looking through we found the item on ebay the shop site is spares4appliances.co.uk which when you look at it is masterpart now if you take off the vat and pp that takes the element down to £3.20 £1.10 less than i can buy if for !!!. on searching through a few other items just general washing machine and vac cleaner parts i found the same thing over and over again now i have no objections to wholesalers selling direct but its got to be at a sensable price after all wholesalers are there to supply the trade and without the trade they wont be around for longrant over

I can’t quite see that it is Masterpart right now? 😕
However both Masterpart and Spares4appliances are conveniently located nearby, in the Southend/Westcliff on Sea area, so I can’t rule out the potential link.
Very interesting…thanks for that Peter. 8) 😀

If I copy & paste ‘spares4appliances.co.uk’ directly into the address line of IE instead of doing a Google search it takes me directly to Masterparts main website. 😉

Thanks for that Jim, and thus confirms that the 2 are incontrovertibly the same company at least.
Sadly, I cannot find any link on eBay regarding Peter’s Beko 262900006 element with regard to any dealings on there by Masterpart. 😕 In fact the cheapest right now on there is £12.50 + £2.45 p&P.:con:
Customers do often tell porkies when it comes to prices after all said and done. So we can take what they say with a pinch of the proverbial…….

Hmm Just browsing through his feedback.
806890386 Genuine Smeg fan ele £14.99 incl VAT (& carriage 3-5 days)
Masterpart £25. (2 for £14.49) + VAT
Does seem we’ve been had.
Though, as I’ve said many times, I’ve been getting cheap and good elements via ebay for years now.
Just search for the one I want, select from drop down menu, “list in order of price incl carriage lowest” (or words to that effect) & take my pick.

Perhaps one or two of us will pose that question on Friday. 😉
