Hello
We have had this for years and recently the bottom oven will not ignite when it is left on automatic cooking. I come back and the oven is trying to ignite but will only do so when I open and close the door. Have you any idea what is wrong ?

Maxol spares were all obsolete back in 2005 so the chance of a repair is very very slim to say the least. If the oven works apart from the automatic timer I would settle for that.
That aside I would be looking to replace soon if you are able as if you call a Gas Safe engineer out he will more than likely condemn it on age and emission grounds.
Sorry but we cannot advise on DIY gas repairs due to forum rules
