ParticipantHi there
Bought this 2nd hand, its immaculate not a scratch on it. Previous owners were a small 3 person family and have looked after the machine. They purchased it in 2003.
Got it home it was transported with the locking bolts so the drum was kept secure. There is play in the drum and a clunking noise when its rotating… Can also hear it when its spinning if slightly off balance but no whining sounds as you would expect if it was a bearing going.
Is it possible its the drum pulley that’s a bit loose on the back?
Heres a couple of videos… of it while it does it…

Hey there, can anyone help.
The ise 10 1606w is exactly the same drum I expect as the washer I have. The drum capacity is the same and states 50l which is the same as the maytag.
Surely this will fit. It seems maytag don’t supply parts any more for it and I’m getting no where with then. Rediculous on a company that charge £900 for washers designed to last by Asko 25 years and they don’t hold parts for it.
So it seems I’ve to dispose of such an expensive machine. Can anyone help?

As I explained the other day, looking the same and being the same are two very different things entirely.
We do not have access to Maytag technical info so I can’t help you track down the correct drum, I doubt that many could other than Maytag who at the time were Maytag but are now a part of Whirlpool.
The machine you have was produced more than three years, almost four in fact, before the first ISE ever came from the same plant. A lot can change in that space of time.

I appreciate that a lot can change but these are the Same capacity drum sizes in litres and kg as we discussed the other day. So the outer tub should be ok to take the ise 1606w. Is it possible you could raise the question with Asko for me who will have this information?
Ill be replacing the bearing as well.

Asko won’t fall over themselves as they will have contracts in place with Maytag/Whirlpool to prevent us from cross referencing and selling their spares, quite probably cheaper. We’ve come across this before and hit a brick wall in the past on it.
Which means the only available option is Maytag, now Whirlpool.
We’d love to sell you the parts, it’s sorta what we do but there’s absolutely no point in selling a part that we don’t know will fit, I’m pretty sure it won’t in reality and, from what I can see there are different part numbers, several. Therefore the presumption must be that there are differences regardless of how small or large and that means we cannot guarantee that another will fit. So we are forced to advise that, whether we or you are happy with that isn’t really the point.
If you can get the part number from Whirlpool, the Asko one and not the Whirlpool one, we can certainly order it from factory for you but they are extremely unlikely to share that information with us. Whilst we’d be happy to do that please understand that any factory order will take 2-4 weeks to arrive and that it will be entirely at your own risk as it is not a machine that we support in any official capacity.
