    Morning all,

I have a Maytag MWA09149 WH/1 washing machine which is now 9 years old and probably does 14 loads a week, so I certainly can not complain.
The bearings have gone (grinding noise when moving by hand, drum moves up and down).

I’m trying to find out if its a sealed drum, but I’m not able to find the price of the either drum or the bearings.

If it is a sealed drum then does it make sense to use the fixed price Whirlpool flat fee (£240 i think). There’s supposed to be a 10y parts warranty but that seems to make no difference at all.

If the bearings can be changed then I assume a local independent would be better.

The question is do I repair it, or replace it, and if i repair it, local independent or Whirlpool?

    Thanks for your help
    Steve
