Participantanyone had any experence with this beauty got suckered into fixing 2 of them on the promise that if the repair was more than 50.00 they would buy new only to then be told they would like them repaired so 1 one no prob broken wire 2nd one no motor action have swapped modules and motor no faults there tried calling maytag for a service manual christ youd have thought i asked for the crown jewels 😆 so any thoughts apreceated 💡

Perhaps there is a US equivalent of this site that could help? I suppose folk in the States are afraid of giving advice though, in case they get sued. 😉

these have an ” unbalance ” switch attached to the top weight, and on some of the earlier versions there was a second one fitted to one of the rear struts.
worth checking these, as there was a tendancy for the switch to break off. also, dont rely on continuity check through the switches if you are testing – better to link out BUT ONLY FOR TESTING PURPOSES….. dont leave the switches linked out.
another weak point was the pcb in the control panel, fixed to the rear – occasionally you could find dry soldered joint there.

£50! 😯 do they know how much these cost? I wouldnt even think of attending one of those for £50 yet alone fixing it.
