I have a Maytag Condenser dryer, model number MTD09WH/1. I put it on yesterday with a full load and it was working fine. I went back after it had finished, clothes were still bit damp so went to put back on and realised it had tripped the switches for the kitchen (not lights). I emptied and cleaned it all, tried again still same thing. We’ve tried different sockets thinking possibly that as the house and electrics are old (we’re renovating next year) but still same thing. The tumble dryer powers up and trips as soon as you press start. I don’t have a manual for the dryer, did contact Maytag for one but didn’t get a reply. My husband plans to have a good look later but he’s no electrician so thought I’d ask here first before he ends up maybe killing it completely! Thank you.

the first thing to look at is the element. don’t know where it is on this model but if water has got through and wet it then it will trip
