Meile G641 dishwasher

Friend of mine rang me and asked me why the salt light is always on even when she has filled the salt compartment 😕 , anyone any suggestions please?

Not had this fault on this model but it has a float in the salt container, remove salt cap and it is on the right hand side with yellow or green cap
It could be the float has stuck. If you remove the cap you can get the float out with long nosed pliers, make sure not to drop cap or float into salt. Only other thing I can think is rely on board. Hope this is some help.

think they also have a reed switch on the side of the container

That must mean there’s a magnet on the float

If the float is removed then the salt light goes out, so that why I thought that if float stuck down then light stays on.
