Moderatormanual mentions the jet in the boot as well, assume you checked that
have you checked pressure bell as i assume that will monitor water flowing out ?
assume its over 5 as it may have had a 5 year warranty from new

ModeratorThey didn’t register the warranty and it’s over 4 years old they said they have only had problems since they started using Ariel liquid tabs they have been using idos meile liquid, yes i had the jet out, what’s the pressure bell never worked on one of these kai

Moderatoryou know the bell that catches the air for the pressure sw on all washers. Am sure you have lots of them gunked up like i have
also you were talking about resets and on some miele can only be done with miele service kits.

ModeratorI didn’t check the bell as it goes all the way through the programme and thought if this was the problem it would have stopped before the end of programme plus the customer does a maintenance wash every 2 weeks

Moderatorwas trying to think how the machine would sense the problem. i can understand the pressure sw being the sensor for pumping out but cant figure how it would know the nozzle in the boot was blocked unless there was a pressure sensor in the hose or pump. was thinking bell may be partially blocked
Miele is a law un itself. they get very complex and there is little service info. have been digging around for about an hour to see if i can find you anything but found a few i have not got but nothing new enough to help
you say they had problems with liquidtabs have you tried running programme with no clothes or detergent ? maybe the tabs cause more foam that airlocks pumps

ModeratorLet’s start at the beginning I think when I arrived to look at machine the float switch in the base was activated so tilted machine back got excess water out ask customer what they had done they said cleared both pumps, so I then ran the machine empty on 20 minute programme I got to the end and displayed what I posted earlier clean filter check jet, so that’s when I decided to still the thing and have the hoses off to both pumps and to jet all was clear re ran machine on 20 minute programme and the same message came up that’s as far as I got

Moderatordid the customer clean out the pump because this message appeared or has it just appeared after the antiflood activated ?
if message was not there before the filters were emptied could it be dampness getting somewhere it should not be. In which case it may be ok when its had a few days to dry

ModeratorYes they cleaned out the pumps because they are getting this message but there was water in the base when I arrived it could be the base needs to dry out but then how did it leak, only thing I could put it down to is over dosing

Moderatorthink ask them to try again with no detergent or washing and see what happens now its had time to dry out

oh i know that feeling lol
got a big Miele (PW6055)at the moment with an intermittant fault. Keeps saying it has temp problems on the sluice wash despite all 3 heaters working ok and i cant touch the drum. Am going to ask care home owner to let the machine fill then turn it off for a while. Then go back and see if its lost water. Machine i have is a sluice machine with a gravity drain. Valves fail over time and can leak water out. What i am hoping is its losing water and refilling but since its not holding the temp for long enough software says disinfecting cycle is not complete

ParticipantHere is an oddball thought for you – I don’t know if the machine that you are looking at has the possibility of the issue that I am about to describe but it may be worth looking at – check the sump hose just above the eco ball as there may be a seal there that should seal against the ball when the ball is in the up position.
I had a machine a couple of years ago (completely different model) where the customer complaint was that only some of the clothing was still wet/not properly spun out after the end of the cycle, she had had Miele out a couple of times but the only fault that they could find was that the computer said that there was still water in the drum after the end of the cycle but did nothing else to fix the issue. When I looked at the machine the only issue that I could find was that the seal just above the eco ball was wrinkly and not sealing against the ball any more, after we replaced it the customers complaint went away.My guess as to the theory/reason behind the seal is that when the machine drains it “sucks” the water in the sump hose down more than the final water level, when the pump stops the water higher up in the waste pipe returns by gravity to even out the level within the machine, it is my theory that they may be using this water to raise the eco ball and seal the water off from the drum area which could potentially cut down on the potential of stagnant water smell as well as ensuring that during the next fill all the detergent ends up in the drum with absolutely none in the sump.
